November Full Moon

The Snow Moon, The Frost Moon

The fullness of the Snow Moon heralds the dark months of the year and signals Mother Earth that it's time to get some well-deserved rest. Exhausted from the constant activity of planting, growing, and harvesting, She yawns and stretches, and settles in for a long winter's nap. As the snows fall to cover Her with an inulation blanket, all of Nature follows suit. Plants and trees recede into dormancy and animals retreat to nests and dens. In fact, it's almost as if they know the Earth has gone to bed, and take the opportunity to rest as well.

But Mother Earth and Nature aren't the only ones resting. So are we. With fewer hours of sunlight and the coming of the cooler weather, we find ourselves spending more time indoors. We tie up loose ends, finish projects, and find time to relax and regenerate. We also contemplate the goodness of the Earth, the wonder of friends and family, and all that makes our lives worth living. We take time to count our blessings, and they are many.

While the coming of the Snow Moon brings a great time for dreamwork and lends its energies easily to meditational and divinatory efforts as well as projects that require endings. Use the Snow Moon's energy for setting magickal goals into motion, as well as planning for the reinvention of your life.Take advantage of this transitional period to set your goals for the future in motion.

Snow Moon Invocation

We call You forth, Mother, for a last goodnight kiss
Before You drift off to slumber and rest in its bliss
We ask that You help us to tie up loose ends
To complete all the projects that we must now tend
So that we, too, can rest when our work is all done
And recharge and regroup for that which will come
And as You rest peacefully, this thing please know:
We are thankful for all that You bring and bestow
